1. Appear= seem: dường như

Ex:  You appear to have trouble talking to me. 

2. Arrange: thu xếp

Ex: I’ll arrange to go swimming.

3. Attempt: cố gắng

Ex: I will attempt to answer all your questions. 

4. Claim: tuyên bố

Ex: I don’t claim to be an expert on IT. 

5. Decide: quyết định

Ex: The committee decided to postpone the meeting.

6. Demand: yêu cầu

Ex: I demand to see the manager. 

7. Desire: mong muốn

Ex: I always desire to attend your class. 

8. Expect: mong đợi

Ex: John expects to begin studying law next semester.

9. Fail: thất bại

Ex: I fail to learn English.

10. Hesitate: do dự, ngập ngừng

Ex: Don’t hesitate to tell me if you have a problem.

11. Hope: hy vọng

Ex:  I’m hoping to win the gold medal.

12. Learn: học

Ex: I’m learning to sing.

13. Neglect: sao nhãng

Ex: You neglected to mention the name of your previous employer.

14. Offer: xung phong

Ex: I offer to do the dishes.

15. Plan: kế hoạch

Ex: They plan to arrive some time after three.

16. Prepare:  chuẩn bị

Ex: I’m preparing to give up smoking.

17. Promise: hứa

Ex: Do you promise to pay me money on time? 

18. Refuse: từ chối

Ex: I refuse to let you drop out of the next lesson.

19. Study: học

Ex: Nina is studying to be an architect.

20. Strive: cố gắng

Ex: I strived to have you laughing all last night. 

21. Tend: có khuynh hướng

Ex: When I'm tired, I tend to make mistakes. 

22. Threaten: đe dọa

Ex: I threaten to object to going sightseeing.

23. Want: muốn

Ex:  I want to find you being happy.

24. Wish: muốn

Ex:  I don't wish to be rude, but could you be a little quieter?

  I wish to leave you talking to my director.
